On April 29, during a plenary session, the Parliament will hear Mikheil Sarjveladze, the IDPs, Labour, Health and Social Affairs Minister, under the interpellation procedure.

The Speaker of Parliament, Shalva Papuashvili, announced this at the Bureau meeting. According to him, the Minister will appear before Parliament at the request of the parliamentary faction “For Georgia”.

As noted at the Bureau, during the current session week, Parliament will take note of the voluntary resignation of the Head of the State Security Service of Georgia, Mamuka Mdinaradze, and, accordingly, the early termination of his powers.

Bureau members were also introduced to new legislative initiatives, including the draft law on the Structure, Powers and Rules of Procedure of the Government of Georgia.

The draft law envisages the introduction of the position of State Minister of Georgia for Coordination of Law Enforcement Bodies within the Government of Georgia.

In addition, the draft law includes a transitional provision, according to which the Government of Georgia shall define the powers and scope of authority of the State Minister for Coordination of Law Enforcement Bodies.

Bureau members also discussed organizational matters.
