Meeting of Aleksandre Tabatadze with the Delegation of the National Defense Committee of the Grand National Assembly (Parliament) of the Republic of Turkey

The Acting Chairman of the Defense and Security Committee, Aleksandre Tabatadze, met with a delegation from the National Defense Committee of the Grand National Assembly (Parliament) of the Republic of Turkey, led by Hulusi Akar, during their visit to Georgia.
During the meeting, the parties examined the current directions of defense cooperation between Georgia and Turkey and discussed measures to enhance future relations.
"During the meeting with our Turkish colleague, we discussed issues concerning our strategic partnership and explored avenues for cooperation in the fields of security and defense. Addressing security challenges, we reiterated the importance of maintaining a peaceful environment in the region and highlighted the significance of our countries' involvement in achieving this goal. The Georgian side is committed to enhancing and deepening the strategic partnership with Turkey, as well as the bilateral cooperation already established in logistics, bolstering defense capabilities, and conducting joint military exercises. Turkey is a valued friend of Georgia, and its role and support are crucial for our country's path towards integration into the Euro-Atlantic Alliance”, - Aleksandre Tabatadze stated.
During the meeting, the parties focused on the relations between the committees while discussing issues related to inter-parliamentary cooperation. It was observed that bilateral visits and meetings of parliamentary delegations contribute to the strengthening of cooperation. Deputy Chairman of the Defense and Security Committee, Tengiz Sharmanashvili, along with members of Parliament Anzor Bolkvadze and Resan Kontselidze, attended the meeting with the delegation.
