Anri Okhanashvili: different lifestyle is protected, no one will have a right to discriminate against others

Anri Okhanashvili: different lifestyle is protected, no one will have a right to discriminate against others

“This is the fundamental issue on which we already have the legitimation of our population, however, this legitimation shall be re-affirmed since it concerns the protection of family values and minors”, - the Chair of the Legal Issues Committee, Anri Okhanashvili stated at the universal-public consideration of the Draft Constitutional Changes and the Draft Constitutional Law on Protection of Family Values and Minors in Kutaisi.

According to him, the authorities have been recently striving to ensure the registered position of the opposition forces regarding this issue.

“Pridon Injia today is represented by the opposition quota, however, the representatives of Gakharia’s party, similar to the “Citizens – Aleko Elisashvili” boycotted the universal-public consideration. They will still have to express their position on whether they agree with the idea of the absolute majority of our society that family values and minors shall be provided with particular protection. It is yet another form of lustration. They would find it complicated to answer your questions if they support the Constitutional Changes”, - he stated.

As he noted, the records in the legislations of foreign countries become even more and more extended that admit same-sex marriages, civil partnerships and respectively linked adoptions and introduction of respective subjects to kindergartens called “gender equality”.

“When we asked a question about what they imply by “gender equality” taught in the kindergartens and if it implied the deliberate propaganda of “such type” of life among children, our question was highly strict – it is inadmissible to teach children in the kindergartens or schools what it means to be born as a boy or a girl but that it does not mean what it is. It is the ideology, quite intensified by the way, and it needs a strict answer from our society. We do not enter into estimating a different lifestyle as it is not a subject of our consideration. The different lifestyle is protected, and no one will have a right to discriminate against others. By this, we mean targeted and deliberate propaganda in schools and kindergartens that it is allegedly normal to be born a boy but consider yourself a girl. This ideology is even fortified by the special animation films aiming at the promotion of a different lifestyle”, - he stated.
