"The entire nation and society must unite around the values that have brought us this far, bestowed upon us by our ancestors, and we must protect and reinforce these values. This concerns family values and the protection of minors. While it may seem unusual that we have to address these issues in Georgia, it is our moral duty, political obligation, and responsibility to our people to engage in conversations with society about such matters, even those that may not always be apparent behind closed doors”, - Anri Okhanashvili, Chairman of the Legal Issues Committee, stated at the universal-public review of constitutional amendments in Ambrolauri.

He drew attention to the existing traditions in Georgia and the agreement signed between the state and the Apostolic Autocephalous Orthodox Church of Georgia, which especially reinforces the issue of family value and connects marriage with the mystery of the sign of the cross.

"However, there are trends and approaches abroad that envisage a review of this issue, and there is already a widespread trend that the address "ladies and gentlemen" is considered discriminatory”, - the Chairman of the Legal Issues Committee stated.

According to him, this is categorically unacceptable. However, this ideology is growing so much that it became necessary to initiate these constitutional changes and discuss it with the public.

"Countries abroad are facing a challenge, where it's considered courageous to affirm that a woman is a woman and a man is a man. In Great Britain, the Prime Minister's bold statement received applause. Today, it requires courage to speak truthfully about what is natural. We must be cognizant of these matters, and as a nation and society, we must agree on the values that have brought us this far, passed down by our ancestors, and ensure their protection and reinforcement. There is a significant trend where substantial funds are being invested in our country to promote this agenda. Our stance is unequivocal: this is not permissible, it is categorically unacceptable. Our objective is to counter falsehood with truth and to engage in open discussions about these issues together with you”, - Anri Okhanashvili stated.
