Beka Odisharia: Diaspora constitutes the greatest economic, intellectual and demographic potential of the country

“Diaspora constitutes the greatest economic, intellectual and demographic potential of the country and I would like to congratulate everyone, considering themselves as the diasporas on this day”, - the Chair of the Diaspora and Caucasus Issues Committee, Beka Odisharia stated at the Forum dedicated to the Diaspora Day.

He accentuated the thematic inquiry of the Committee on “Engagement of Diaspora for the Development of Georgia: Attracting Sustainable Diaspora Capital”.

"Recently, we held a presentation of a thematic inquiry, which aimed at the demonstration of the results of free movement. Migration does not lead to negative consequences unless it is circular, legal and regulable”, - he stated.

According to him, it is the contribution merited by the “Georgian Dream” that the Georgian citizens enjoy free movement to various world countries.

The Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze; the Speaker, Shalva Papuashvili; and the Foreign Minister, Ilia Darchiashvili also addressed the attendees. The Metropolitan Bishop Andria Gvazava introduced the address of the Catholic Patriarch of Georgia.
