Meeting of Eka Sepashvili with the representatives of the Regulatory Bodies in the Pharmaceutical sphere

The member of the Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee, Eka Sepashvili, as a thematic rapporteur, held a working meeting with the representatives of the regulatory bodies and associations operating in the pharmaceutical sphere to discuss the enforcement of the law on consumers’ rights and the respective challenges.
According to her, the Law on Consumers’ Rights adopted in March 2022 facilitated further approximation of Georgia to the EU normative acts in this sphere and thus, improved the legal state of the consumers and established a new behavior culture based on the respect of the consumers, however, the challenges remain.
“Regulation of consumer rights will serve as an additional incentive at the world level for the development of a modern and competitive business as an important precondition for our EU integration. At that, prevention of health and life risks for the safety of the consumers constitutes the fundamental value and thus, we need to ensure the compliance of our pharmaceutical market with the legal norms. At the meeting, we discussed the enforcement of the law and the respective challenges, as well as the solutions”, - E. Sepashvili stated.
The activity of a thematic rapporteur is backed by the AA Facility.
