The meeting of Givi Chichinadze with the Charge D’Affaires of the Embassy of Iran

The First Deputy Chair of the Diaspora and Caucasus Issues Committee, Givi Chichinadze held a meeting with the Charge D’Affaires of the Embassy of Iran Mohammad Ghobadi Rad.
The parties discussed the cultural and economic cooperation between the countries and the prospects of relations in the agricultural sphere. One of the key issues the parties touched upon was the 30th anniversary of the Georgia-Iran diplomatic relations to be celebrated on May 15, on the occasion of which the Embassy of Iran intends to hold the Iranian Culture Week.
The Committee members will be engaged in the events.
According to G. Chichinadze, the working visits of the Parliamentary Delegations abroad were restricted since 2020 due to the pandemic, which now shall be gradually restored. Within the inter-parliamentary cooperation, it would be interesting to host the Speaker of the Parliament of Iran in Georgia, which can be scheduled in autumn, he added.
