The Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee, Givi Mikanadze and the Committee member, the Head of the Advisory Council on Higher Education, Giorgi Sosiashvili participated in the awarding ceremony of the writing contest “Machabeli – 2024”.

The winners in various nominations have been awarded at the ceremony. MPs addressed the attendees, underlining the significance of the contest.

The writing contest “Machabeli – 2024” was founded with the initiative of Professor Giorgi Sosiashvili in 2021. Currently, the Rector of the Gori State University, Professor Alexander Mgebrishvili is the head coordinator of the contest. G. Sosishvili delivered the founder’s prize to the Turkish translator and specialist of Georgian sciences, Harun Cimke, and the special prize was awarded to the poet Nino Mshvidobadze.

The Deputy Mayor of Gori Municipality, Tamaz Shioshvili, the members of the City Assembly, and the Director of the National Library of the Parliament, Mirian Khositashvili attended the ceremony.
