Member of Parliament and Deputy Chair of the Political Group “People’s Power,” Guram Macharashvili held a meeting with students to discuss the legal and political challenges facing the nation.

During the meeting, Macharashvili provided an overview of the legislative process.

The primary focus of the discussion was the proceedings of the Interim Fact-Finding Commission. Macharashvili elucidated the Commission’s mandate to identify and scrutinise systemic crimes and offences committed in the past that have already been addressed by the European Court of Human Rights, which subsequently issued a definitive conclusion.

“The students asked about the grounds for the set-up of the Interim Fact-Finding Commission, which I comprehensively provided alongside its legal and political aspects. We agreed to maintain the format of the meetings”, - G. Macharashvili noted.
