"The order of society and the role and purpose of the government is to establish a legal framework and system that will safeguard society from various threats. I am pleased to be part of the commission tasked with shielding our children and society from precisely these threats", - Irakli Shatakishvili, the First Deputy Chairman of the Rules and Procedural Issues Committee, stated in Rustavi, at the meeting of the Steering Commission of the Universal-Public Review of Constitutional Amendments with the people.

According to him, it is a tacit understanding among Georgians that marriage does not require additional definitions because the union of a man and a woman constitutes a family. However, a few years ago, society confronted the reality that it was necessary to specify this and establish a constitutional guarantee.

"Freedom of speech and expression are protected in our legal system, and certainly, after legal capacity, freedom of expression is safeguarded. However, it is crucial to shield our children from LGBT propaganda and the romanticization of such issues. This legislative change requires support, and I have high hopes for our society", - Irakli Shatakishvili stated.
