Levan Makhashvili, Chair of the EU integration Committee, met with the Ambassador of Bulgaria, H.E. Vesselin Valkanov.

The discourse addressed the Georgia-Bulgaria cooperation prospects and the developments in Georgia and the wider region.

The special emphasis was placed on the imperative of the role of the “middle corridor” in the region in the enhancement of the Black Sea connectivity, facilitating bilateral relations between the two countries.

In the context of foreign economic relations, it is noteworthy that Bulgaria is among the ten largest export countries for Georgia, while it holds the first position among the EU member states according to data for the beginning of 2025.

The parties accentuated parliamentary links, including at the level of the Friendship Groups.

The Head of Mission expressed the support of Bulgaria for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia.

The parties expressed their commitment to enhancing bilateral and multilateral cooperation.
