A delegation of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, led by its Chair, Nikoloz Samkharadze, is on an official visit to the Kingdom of Spain.

 

The delegation includes the Chair of the EU Integration Committee, Levan Makhashvili, and the Chair of the Environmental Protection and Natural Resources Committee, Maia Bitadze.

 

As part of the visit, a meeting was held with the Chair of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the Spanish Congress, Juan Carlos Ruiz Boix.

 

During the meeting, the parties discussed Georgia–EU relations and the main directions of cooperation. They also emphasized the prospects for further development of bilateral relations.

 

Members of the Foreign Relations Committee delegation provided their Spanish counterparts with information on the security environment in the region and the situation in Georgia’s occupied territories. Particular attention was paid to the importance of the Middle Corridor.

The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of Georgia to the Kingdom of Spain, H.E. Alexandre Chkhuaseli.
