Nino Tsilosani and Giorgi Chakvetadze met with Georgian and Ethnic Minority Students

The Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Nino Tsilosani, and the First Deputy Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee, Giorgi Chakvetadze, met with Georgian and ethnic minority students within the framework of the project “Promoting Interethnic Relations and Civic Integration of Students in Georgia.”
During the meeting, students presented reports prepared on various topics to representatives of the legislative body. The issues discussed included the needs of young people living in the regions, internship and employment opportunities for representatives of ethnic minorities, access to secondary and higher education, as well as challenges related to teaching the Georgian language to Azerbaijani-speaking students.
“It is noteworthy that the non-profit organization New Generation for Progress, with the support of the Youth Agency, is implementing the project ‘Promoting Interethnic Relations and Civic Integration of Students in Georgia,’ the main goal of which is the integration of students from ethnic minority backgrounds. We listened to ideas and recommendations from the students, which will be taken into account and reflected in relevant future activities”, - stated Nino Tsilosani.
As part of the visit, the young participants toured the Parliament Building and the Ekvtime Takaishvili Museum of Georgian Parliamentarism.
