Nino Tsilosani and Mariam Lashkhi Met Vice Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly

Friendship Groups 26 Jan 2026
Nino Tsilosani and Mariam Lashkhi Met Vice Speaker of the Hungarian National Assembly

The Vice-Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia and member of the Georgia-Hungary Friendship Group, Nino Tsilosani, together with the Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee and member of the same friendship group, Mariam Lashkhi, met with the Vice Speaker of the National Assembly of Hungary, István Jakab.

The parties discussed the friendly relations between the two countries and prospects for further deepening bilateral cooperation.

Particular attention was paid to strengthening cooperation in sector-specific areas.

“Georgia–Hungary relations are distinguished and are further strengthened by high-level bilateral meetings. The Vice Speaker of the Hungarian Parliament has made a special contribution to the development of agriculture in his country and is, at the same time, a very experienced politician. Therefore, during the meeting we discussed both sectoral and general political issues. Once again, we emphasized that we stand on the same ideological ground and serve the strengthening of our countries’ identity and national values, as well as the consolidation of sovereignty. Hungary is facing an important election year, and I wish the Hungarian people success in making the best choice,” - Nino Tsilosani stated after the meeting.

The meeting was also attended by Lajos Kohári, Head of the Interparliamentary Office of the Hungarian National Assembly, and Petra Ponevácz-Pana, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Hungary to Georgia.
