At the 2025 European Championship held in Bratislava, Member of Parliament Geno Petriashvili was named Europe’s Best Wrestler of 2024 and received the corresponding award.

“Our Committee’s distinguished member, Geno Petriashvili, has been named Europe’s Best Wrestler of 2024 by the European Wrestling Federation. On behalf of the Committee, I would like to congratulate him on this important recognition and the well-deserved award", - the Chair of the Sports Committee, Viktor Sanikidze, stated.

During the session of the Sports Committee, the award for Europe’s Best Wrestler was presented to Geno Petriashvili by the Committee’s Chief of Staff, Edisher Machaidze, who was recently elected as a member of the Executive Committee of the United World Wrestling Europe in Bratislava. Notably, Edisher Machaidze is the first Georgian to be elected to this committee.
