Rati Ionatamishvili, Chair of the Human Rights and Civil Integration Committee, visited the Independent Living Centre in Telavi.

During his visit, he became aware of the activities being conducted there and met with the beneficiaries to discuss their needs.

The discourse addressed the significance of the centre for individuals with disabilities and the implementation of independent living principles within the municipality. A particular focus was given to the recently introduced personal assistant program. Telavi stands as a municipality that has successfully implemented this program. Nevertheless, despite the positive trajectory, certain obstacles remain that need to be overcome.

The Telavi Mayor, Levan Andriashvili expressed his support for persons with disabilities and affirmed his commitment to cooperating in this direction.
