Joint statement by MPs: Sozar Subari, Dimitri Khundadze, Guram Macharashvili and Mikheil Kavelashvili
Statement 29 Sep 2022
We condemn the so-called visit of the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko to Abkhazia and consider it an extremely wrong and unfriendly step. We express hope that the Belarusian authorities will not cross the ultimate red line in the relations between the two states and the recognition of so-called independence of Abkhazia will not follow.
One of the prerequisites for achieving our goal of restoring fraternal coexistence with Abkhazians is not allowing another military confrontation between Georgians and Abkhazians.
The harmonious coexistence of Georgians and Abkhazians in the unified Georgian state should be ensured in the future.
No provocation, no matter where it comes from, can make us change our strategy or objectives.
