Meeting of Parliamentary Majority MPs with the Ambassadors of the EU Political and Security Committee

The Chair of the EU Integration Committee, Maka Botchorishvili and the Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee, Givi Mikanadze met with the Ambassadors of the EU Political and Security Committee (EU PSC) and deliberated on the political developments in Georgia, the security challenges of the country and the progress on the EU integration path.
“This meeting with the Ambassadors and the fact that they visit Georgia are foremost for us. First of all, it implies yet another manifestation of the EU’s support for Georgia. Every member of the Delegation affirms that the EU member states are committed to supporting Georgia on the EU integration path, which is paramount. At the meeting, we deliberated on various issues, including the security challenges of Georgia and the EU integration progress. As noted, granting the EU candidate status to Georgia was a historical decision which is based on the achievements of the country and the will of the Georgian people and the EU member states and thus, it is imperative to proceed with the progress leading Georgia to the EU membership”, - M. Botchorishvili noted.
According to her, the discourse included the fulfillment of the recommendations of the European Commission that are enrolled into the political agenda of the country.
The meeting was attended by the Ambassador of Georgia to the EU, H.E. Vakhtang Makharoblishvili.
