Meeting of Majority MPs with their Canadian colleagues in Strasbourg

Within the framework of the PACE Spring Session held in Strasbourg, the members of the Parliamentary Delegation met with their Canadian colleagues and deliberated on the Laws on Transparency of Foreign Influence adopted by Georgia and Canada.
Georgian MPs shared information to their colleagues about the political and economic situation in the country and the preparations for the Parliamentary Elections. The position has been expressed about the opening of the Embassy or a Temporary Representation of Canada in Georgia in view of the enhancement of bilateral relations, which was shared by the Canadian MPs, pledging to discuss the initiative with the respective agencies.
The parties agreed on active communication and possible exchange visits. The meeting was attended from the Canadian side by: Senator David Wells; the Head of the Canada-Georgia Friendship Group, Member of the Parliament of Canada Lianne Rood, and MP Jamie Schmale; and from the Georgian side: the Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee, Givi Mikanadze; his First Deputy, Giorgi Chakvetadze; and the First Deputy Chair of the Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee, Eka Sepashvili.
