Shalva Papuashvili met with the Parliamentary Delegation of Moldova

The Speaker of Parliament, H.E. Shalva Papuashvili, held a meeting with the parliamentary delegation of Moldova, including the Head of the Georgia Friendship Group, Bogdat Tîrdea, and the Group members.

Members of the delegation represent three opposition factions in the Parliament of Moldova: the Socialists, the “Alternative” faction, and the parliamentary faction “Democracy at Home”.

During the meeting, it was noted that in a complex geopolitical environment, dialogue and mutual support between Georgia and Moldova are of particular importance.

The Moldovan side stated that, over the years, the Government of Georgia has pursued policies aimed at safeguarding national interests and values amid a turbulent and tense international environment.

The parties emphasized the importance of developing people-to-people contacts, including in the tourism sector, which is further facilitated by direct flights between the two countries.

Shalva Papuashvili spoke about the legislative activities of the Parliament and the results achieved.

He also reaffirmed his readiness to continue dialogue with the Moldovan side.

The meeting was also attended by Isko Daseni, Head of the Georgia–Moldova Parliamentary Friendship Group.
