Shalva Papuashvili Visits Samtskhe–Javakheti Region Together with Members of Parliament
The Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, Shalva Papuashvili, together with Members of Parliament, is visiting the Samtskhe–Javakheti region.
 
In the Ninotsminda Municipality, at the Monument of Haos and Kartlos, Shalva Papuashvili met with local residents and spoke about the values and challenges that unite the local population.
 
“This year, as we mark the 1,700th anniversary of the proclamation of Christianity as the state religion, we are once again reminded that Georgia’s history, culture, and statehood originate from common roots.
 
It is our duty to preserve this heritage, strengthen national unity, and pass on to future generations the values that have sustained our state throughout the centuries. The Monument of Haos and Kartlos remains a symbol of this unity and our shared origins”, - Papuashvili stated.
 
As part of events marking the 1,700th anniversary of the Christianization of Georgia, the Speaker and Members of Parliament visited the museum and cathedral of the Akhalkalaki, Kumurdo and Kari Diocese. They also visited the Saro Convent of the Holy Archangels and its workshop.
 
During their visit to the Akhaltsikhe Municipality, Shalva Papuashvili and the Members of Parliament visited the Atskuri Cathedral of the Mother of God and reviewed the ongoing rehabilitation works at the cathedral.
 
The parliamentary delegation accompanying the Speaker includes: Nino Tsilosani, Ilia Injia, Sozar Subari, Mariam Lashkhi, Irakli Kadagishvili, Davit Matikashvili, Greta Tsitsava, Anton Obolashvili, Samvel Manukyan, and Sumbat Kyureghian.
