Shota Berekashvili and Anton Obolashvili Meet with Chair of the Economic Relations Committee of the National Assembly of Armenia

Chairman of the Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee Shota Berekashvili and Committee member Anton Obolashvili met with Babken Tunyan, Chairman of the Economic Relations Committee of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, who is on an official visit to Georgia.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the deepening and strengthening of economic ties between the two countries, as well as existing opportunities in the field of trade.

“Maximising the use of trade agreements, production potential, and experience will contribute to the development of both countries' economies. For example, Armenia has a strong production culture, the experience of which we could successfully integrate in Georgia. On our part, Georgia’s financial sector, through ‘Bank of Georgia’, is successfully operating in the Armenian financial market and sharing its expertise. Overall, peace, stability, and cooperation among the region’s three countries will help maximise trade potential and foster economic development across the region", - Shota Berekashvili stated following the meeting.

Committee member Anton Obolashvili added that strengthened bilateral cooperation will foster closer ties between the populations and business communities of both countries, positively impacting citizens’ well-being.

“We also discussed the importance of peacebuilding policies in the region. We welcome the ongoing agreement process between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Achieving stable, long-term peace in our region will encourage mutual investments and attract further investments from other countries. In addition, we discussed trade opportunities that will further boost growth in exports and imports", - Anton Obolashvili noted.
