The Chair of the Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee, Shota Berekashvili, attended the completion ceremony of the Substation “Tskaltubo 500”.
The project’s opening ceremony was also attended by the Prime Minister, Irakli Kobakhidze, and the Vice-Prime Minister, Levan Davitashvili.
“Tskaltubo 500” is a crucial project for the development of Georgia’s energy infrastructure, holding strategic importance for the attainment of energy independence for the country. The project was successfully completed through collaboration between the State Energy System of Georgia and the World Bank, with a total cost of 20 ml USD.
The Substation will not only enhance the high-voltage transmission network and connect new hydroelectric power stations to the energy system, but it will also increase Georgia’s electricity export and transit potential.
