The Chairman of the Sports Committee of the Parliament of Georgia, Victor Sanikidze, held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Armenia to Georgia, H.E. Ashot Smbatyan.

During the meeting, the parties reviewed the current state of relations between Georgia and Armenia, emphasizing that mutual visits by representatives of the legislative and executive branches significantly contribute to strengthening cooperation across various sectors.

To further deepen interparliamentary relations, the sides proposed the idea of organizing a joint sports tournament, underscoring the importance of sports as a platform for enhancing people-to-people ties and fostering regional friendship.

The meeting was also attended by Zurab Rurua, Deputy Chair of the Sports Committee.
