As part of his working visit to the Republic of the Philippines, the Chair of the Defense and Security Committee, Aleksandre Tabatadze, met with the country's Secretary of National Defense, Gilberto Teodoro.

During the introductory meeting, Aleksandre Tabatadze expressed gratitude to the Philippine government for its support of Georgia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The committee chair also discussed potential areas for further cooperation between the two countries in the field of defense.

"I had a productive meeting with the Secretary of National Defense of the Republic of the Philippines. We discussed regional security issues, existing challenges, and their impact. Additionally, we exchanged information on defense and security sector reforms implemented in both countries in recent years. There was a shared commitment to deepening cooperation, and we emphasized the importance of increasing high-level visits in the future", - Aleksandre Tabatadze stated.

As part of his working visit to Manila, the Committee Chair also attended a parliamentary forum on intelligence and security issues and held meetings with representatives of the country's executive authorities.
