The Chair of the Legal Issues Committee, Anri Okhanashvili held a meeting with the representatives of the OSCE/ODIHR Needs Assessment Mission to deliberate on the amendments to the Election Code and the fulfillment of the Venice Commission and OSCE/ODIHR recommendations.
“Their key task is to get cognizant of the readiness of the country for the Parliamentary Elections. We went into detailed consideration of the recent amendments to the Election Code. It is paramount that we have practically fulfilled almost all key recommendations set out by the Venice Commission and OSCE/ODIHR. The cardinal novelty is that we, for the first time, resort to holding the Parliamentary Elections through the e-devices. Hence, this is the novelty ensuring rapid tabulation. We have also introduced an automated vote counting mechanism excluding any manipulations and the risk of fraud elections”, - A. Okhanashvili stated.
