
As part of the official visit to Latvia, Beka Odisharia, Head of the Friendship Group with the Seimas of the Republic of Latvia, Chairman of the Diaspora and Caucasus Issues Committee, Eliso Bolkvadze, Chair of the Culture Committee, and Irakli Zarkua, the First Deputy Chairman of the Regional Policy and Self-Government Committee met with Ainars Latkovskis, Head of the Friendship Group of the Latvian Seimas with the Parliament of Georgia, Uldis Budriķis, Deputy Chair, and Raimonds Bergmanis, Member of the Friendship Group to discuss the issues of Georgia's integration into NATO and the European Union.
The parties dwelt on the enhancement of the cooperation between the Parliament of Georgia and the Seimas of Latvia.
Following the meeting, Ainars Latkovskis responded to the meeting with the Georgian colleagues on his Twitter page: "the group of MPs under my leadership for the enhancement of cooperation with the Georgian Parliament met today with its representatives and the Chairman of the Georgian-Latvian Friendship Group, Beka Odisharia. We discussed Georgia's progress towards NATO and the EU, emphasizing that Latvia supports Georgia’s accession to both organizations”.
