
The First Deputy Chair of the Diaspora and Caucasus Issues Committee, Givi Chichinadze and the Committee members, as well as the member of the Georgia-Turkey Friendship Group, Anzor Bolkvadze participated in the Turkish-Georgian Business Forum “Chveneburebi”, held for the first time with the initiative of the Georgian historical Diaspora in Turkey and by engagement of the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Georgia.
The Foreign Minister, Ilia Darchiashivli opened the Forum, which was attended by more than 100 Turkish entrepreneurs in Georgia, potential investors and members of the Commercial Chamber of various regions of Turkey.
The Vice Prime Minister, Economic Minister Levan Davitashvili, Ambassador of Turkey, H.E. Fatma Ceren Yazgan, and the co-organizer of the Forum, Chair of the Georgian and Turkish Businessmen Association, Osman Turan addressed the attendees.
The Forum aimed at the provision of the representatives of the Turkish business circles with information about the investment environment and economic capacity of Georgia, and attraction of investments to Georgia with the help of the Georgian diaspora in Turkey. The attendees underlined the importance of the bilateral relations between the countries since Turkey is a regional economic partner and strategic ally to Georgia. Georgia offers investors from the neighboring countries diversified and numerous investment benefits in various directions.
As noted, the investment potential of the historical Georgian Diasporas in Turkey shall be mastered in full capacity, which is represented in abundance in the Turkish economic and business sector. The attendees noted that such events will further enhance the bilateral relations, attraction of investments to Georgia and extension of the trade-economic cooperation.
The representatives of the sector Ministries and state agencies of Georgia introduced the industrial environment in the country, mechanisms accessible for the private sector and foreign investors, business development reforms, as well as the implemented and scheduled projects in Georgia. The Forum was dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the diplomatic relations between Georgia and Turkey.
