The Scientific-Advisory Council on Anti-Drug Policy at the Health Care and Social Issues Committee made a decision to issue the recommendation on the accessibility to Narcan to prevent the lethality in case of the drug overdose.
The working meeting of the Council was held with the representatives of the responsible agencies engaged in the drug policy decisions, and the field specialists to discuss the issue of Narcan by the drug-stores.
“We recommend ensuring accessibility to Narcan in every drug store without a prescription to prevent lethality in case of the overdose. I believe, it will be the solution to reduce lethality in case of an overdose. However, naturally, the best solution is not only a timely use of Narcan but a refusal of drugs”, - the Chair, D. Khundadze stated.
