Meeting of Eka Sepashvili with Civil Society groups working on Consumers Rights

The First Deputy Chair of the Sector Economy and Economic Policy Committee, Eka Sepashvili held a meeting with the members of the civil society working in the sphere of consumer rights.


Being a thematic rapporteur, E. Sepashvili got cognizant of the current situation, achievements and challenges in this sphere.


“Other than the thematic inquiry, the Rules of Procedure envisage the application of the thematic rapporteurs for the Parliamentary oversight. The Law on Consumers Rights has recently been adopted. This meeting was dedicated to the consideration of the gaps revealed in practice and the study of the achievements. We overviewed certain gases, problems and good practices existing in case of standalone businesses. We discussed the solutions as well”, - she stated.


The meetings are scheduled with NGOs, the business sector and public institutions, as well as parties and entities concerned to ensure maximal inclusiveness of the process.


The thematic report will be developed on the basis of the meetings to be submitted by E. Sepashvili to the Committee.
