The First Deputy Finance Minister introduced the Draft Law on State Budget 2025 to the “European Socialists”

The First Deputy Finance Minister, Giorgi Kakauridze, introduced the Draft Law on State Budget 2025 to the Parliamentary Political Party “European Socialists”.

According to the draft, the planned revenues of the mixed budget increase by 222.6 million GEL and amount to 32,133.5 million GEL. Total revenues increase by 22.7 million GEL and reach 27,583.5 million GEL. State budget appropriations also increased, totaling 27,952.9 million GEL.

As Vladimir Bozhadze, Chair of the Political Party “European Socialists”, stated, it is important that the results of sound economic policy are reflected in economic growth.

“According to the draft, Georgia’s budget is increasing, including the revenue component. Accordingly, the expenditure part is also growing. It is noteworthy that additional funding is being allocated to the Ministries of Health and Defense. Funding for sports is increasing as well. Most importantly, economic growth is reflected in tax revenues. It is essential to maintain peace and stability in the country, to continue development, and to advance the infrastructure projects that, for various reasons, were delayed this year but will be fully implemented next year. This includes the construction of kindergartens and schools, water supply projects, and other infrastructure initiatives. It is particularly important for these projects to be carried out in the regions”, - he stated.

According to him, the “European Socialists” will have their own views regarding the 2026 draft budget.

“For us, a matter of principle is the increase of salaries for kindergarten teachers and staff. We have received a corresponding commitment from the Finance Ministry on this matter, and we are confident that this commitment will be fulfilled. Municipalities that do not have the resources to independently ensure salary increases for kindergarten personnel will be supported by the central government. Unfortunately, salaries of school teachers are not increasing, although this is linked to the significant raise they received last year”, - stated Vladimir Bozhadze.
