Gela Samkharauli, Chair of the Agrarian Committee, met with Denis Salukvadze, the Agrarian Minister of Ajara AR.

Mr. Samkharauli introduced the legal initiatives of the Committee, accentuating the Draft Laws on Manufacturers Associations, and on Soil Conservation.

“The applied legislation regulating soil maintenance and monitoring is outdated and fails to meet modern requirements. Within the EU approximation process, we set the priority to ensure the full compliance of the updated legislation with the EU standards. This year, the EU adopted a new directive on soil conservation. Our goal is to timely enact respective regulations in Georgia”, - he elucidated.

The two sides reviewed the scheduled and ongoing programs in initiatives in Ajara AR rising yields and supporting the farmers.
