Giorgi Chakvetadze partaking in the opening ceremony of the Regional Youth Forum

Giorgi Chakvetadze, the First Deputy Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee, addressed the attendees at the opening ceremony of the Regional Youth Forum in Batumi.

In his address, he underscored the legal amendments introduced in the youth policy domain, the respective actions taken, and the outlined plans. He reviewed the activities aimed at improving the conditions of youth in the regions.

The Forum’s objective is to foster collaboration among municipalities, facilitate the development of joint projects, and facilitate the implementation of youth policies.

The Deputy Regional Development Minister, Zurab Iashvili; the Education and Sports Minister of Ajara AR, Maia Khajishvili; the Chair of the Education, Science, Culture and Sports Committee of Ajara AR Supreme Council, David Batsikadze; a member of Tbilisi City Assembly, Ana Kakabadze; the Deputy Head of the LEPL Youth Agency, Anzor Megrelishvili; the Acting Director of the LEPL Regional Youth Center, Tamar Gabaidze; and the representatives of the youth wing of public agencies also participated in the opening of the Forum.

The three-day Forum focuses on: youth policy and regional challenges, informal education in the youth sphere, and the experience of the self-governing organizations in the youth policy implementation.

The Forum is structured within the Regional Youth Centre program “Intellectual, Cultural, and Career Development of the Youth,” in collaboration with the Education, Science, and Youth Affairs Committee and the Tbilisi City Assembly. The Forum is held under the auspices of the “Youth Forum of Local Self-Governance,” established with the initiative of the Sports and Youth Affairs Commission of the Tbilisi City Assembly in 2018, and is hosted by various municipalities on an annual basis.
