Meeting of Giorgi Volski and David Matikashvili with the members of the Kyrgyzstan-Georgia Parliamentary Friendship Group

The First Vice-Speaker, Giorgi Volski met with the members of the Parliamentary Friendship Group with Georgia at the Jogorku Kenesh (Parliament) of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The meeting was dedicated to the deliberation of bilateral cooperation aspects and topics including the territorial integrity of Georgia, business facilitation, tourism and transit infrastructure.

“Kyrgyzstan is an interesting, intensively and rapidly developing country. The Parliamentary Delegation of Kyrgyzstan aspires to get cognizant of the achievements of Georgia that cover the business facilitation and the development of transit infrastructure and the highland regions. As for the political issues, we reconciled certain positions that Kyrgyzstan will never put the territorial integrity of Georgia under doubt. It would be preferable for Kyrgyzstan to approve the UN Resolution concerning the return of IDPs to the occupied territories, however, we still achieved the agreement that now, instead of voting against this Resolution, Kyrgyzstan will abstain from the ballot on the Resolution”, - G. Volski stated.

The Parliamentary Delegation of Kyrgyzstan already met with the Head of the Georgia- Kyrgyzstan Friendship Group, David Matikashvili and deliberated parliamentary cooperation.

The meeting was attended by the members of the Georgia- Kyrgyzstan Friendship Group – Tengiz Sharmanashvili and Levan Mgaloblishvili.
