
Irakli Kadagishvili, the Chair of the Regional Policy and Self-Government Committee held meetings in the Parliament of Japan.
Within the framework of the working visit, served on the basis of the invitation of the Head of the Japan-Georgia Parliamentary Friendship Group, Ichiro Aisawa, Irakli Kadagishvili met with his Japanese counterpart, the Chair of the Special Committee on Regional Revitalization and Formation of a Digital Society, TANI Koichi. The parties overviewed parliamentary cooperation prospects and exchanged their positions on the regional arrangements and policies.
Ichiro Aisawa and Irakli Kadagishvili underscored the significance of the enhancement of the ties between the Friendship Groups and the exchange working visits. The two politicians expressed their commitment to intensifying the relations between the Friendship Groups.
Irakli Kadagishvili extended his gratitude to Ichiro Aisawa and the Parliament of Japan for the support of Japan for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia; he, on behalf of the Head of the Georgia-Japan Friendship Group, Nikoloz Samkharadze, invited the Japanese Members of Parliament with a working visit to Georgia.
Irakli Kadagishvili also met with the President of the Japan-Georgia Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Tadaharu Uehara and reviewed the trade-economic relations between the two countries and estimated the existing investment milieu. According to Tadaharu Uehara, he cherishes a high interest and attitude to Georgia since he was the head of the Diplomatic Mission to Georgia years before and held his activity with the status of the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary.
As noted, the Japanese start-uppers intend to visit Georgia in view of enhancing bilateral economic relations and will be hosted by the Economic Ministry. Irakli Kadagishvili welcomed the commitment of the Parliament to get engaged in the process for bolstering the trade-economic relationship.
The meetings in Japan were attended by the Ambassador of Georgia, H.E. Teimuraz Lezhava.
Irakli Kadagishvili, accompanied by the State Trustee to Kakheti, Giorgi Aladashvili, and Telavi Mayor, Levan Andriashvili, visited Ushiku. At the meetings in the City Hall, the parties agreed on the conclusion of the Memorandum of Cooperation between Telavi and Ushiku. The official signing ceremony will be held during the visit of the Japanese Delegation to Telavi.
