The First Deputy Chair of the Culture Committee, Irakli Mezurnishvili held a meeting with the Ambassador of Japan, H.E. Hideki Ishizuka and deliberated on the prospects to further enhance the bilateral relations.

According to I. Mezurnishvili, Georgia-Japan relations are been progressed and it is clearly evidenced by the investments by the TEPCO (Tokyo Electric Power Company) in the energy sphere of Georgia.

The parties discussed the cultural potential and promotion of culture between the countries.

“We shall spare no efforts to promote Georgia in Japan and introduce our culture”, - MP stated. The discourse included the documentary “A Quarter of a Century” touching on the cultural-diplomatic relations between Georgia and Japan. As I. Mezurnishvili highlighted, it is the opportunity to introduce Georgia not only to Japan but to introduce Japan to Georgia. According to him, the premier of the documentary is scheduled for the end of August.
