“We have historically and traditionally assented on the issues that may not at all require to be registered since it is already crystal clear that a marriage means a union of a man and a woman with a purpose to establish a family”, - the First Deputy Chair of the Procedural Issues and Rules Committee, Irakli Shatakishvili stated at the meeting with the population in Borjomi for the consideration of the Draft Constitutional Laws.

According to him, despite the Constitutional Changes of 2017 stipulate the term of a marriage, society today still encounters latent threats.

“The duty of a responsible government and a legislative body is to shield society from latent threats, which may stealthily pounce being invisible but carrying the deepest context. Our duty is and I believe that this is your request and order to us to create the legal guarantees, evading these threats from our minor children”, - he noted.
