
Chairman of the Diaspora and Caucasus Issues Committee, Irakli Zarkua, held a meeting with the Minister of Diaspora of Montenegro, Mirsad Azemović.
The meeting focused on the bilateral relations between Georgia and Montenegro, with both sides discussing prospects for future cooperation across various sectors.
“We discussed a wide range of important topics, including the challenges related to diaspora affairs. We presented our country’s current policy on diaspora engagement, while our Montenegrin counterparts shared their own national experience. Georgia and Montenegro have much in common—both are candidate countries for EU membership. We also exchanged views on how we can become worthy members of the European Union", - Irakli Zarkua stated following the meeting.
Also present at the meeting were: First Deputy Chair of the Committee, Givi Chichinadze; Committee member Nodar Turdzeladze; Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimer Konstantinidi; Director of the Diaspora Relations Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mukhran Gulaghashvili; and the Prime Minister’s Advisor on Diaspora and Cultural Affairs, Beka Odisharia.
