
The Agrarian Issues, and the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committees heard the Employment Policy Planning and Enforcement Report for 2024 at the joint sitting.
The reporter, the Deputy IDPs, Labor, Health and Social Protection Minister, Giorgi Tsagareishvili reviewed the programs of the LEPL State Employment Agency and introduced the statistical data.
As per his information, the Agency has significantly extended the service area in 2024, specifically, through enhancing the regional offices, the Agency ensured access to its services in 10 regions and 7 municipal units of the country. According to him, 3692 job seekers enjoyed the professional training and re-training short-term program in 2024.
As noted, the number of job seekers and employers also increased in 2024. Furthermore, the Agency has organized seven forums in 2024, participated by over 240 employers and more than 1400 job seekers.
Besides, the Agency actively cooperated with international organizations, thus, improving local standards and enhancing the qualifications of its personnel.
“In 2025, the Agency aspires to keep the capacity building, within which the employment programs are to be revised and upgraded along with the enhancement of the research and analytical activities of the Agency”, - the reporter noted.
Nino Tandilashvili, the First Deputy Environmental Protection and Agriculture Minister, reviewed the activities and employment programs in the agrarian sector.
“The Environmental Ministry actively cooperates with the Education, Science and Youth Ministry in view to eliminate the deficiency of the professions. The number of students annually increases who are interested in acquiring the professions that are beneficial in the agrarian and environmental spheres”, - she stated.
