Levan Makhashvili, Chair of the EU Integration Committee, convened a meeting with the Ambassador of Armenia, H.E. Ashot Smbatyan.

The Armenian diplomat congratulated the Chair of the Committee and the Committee members on their electoral victory and extended his best wishes for their continued parliamentary endeavors. The parties engaged in discussions on the prospects for bilateral and multilateral cooperation between Georgia and Armenia, agreeing on the strengthening of ties within the parliamentary framework.

 

The dialogue also encompassed Georgia’s EU membership aspirations. As Mr. Makhashvili emphasized, Georgia remains resolute in its commitment to advancing economic, legislative, and institutional reforms to prepare the country for EU integration by 2030.

In light of Armenia’s growing interest in EU membership, Mr. Makhashvili underscored the paramount importance of dialogue with Armenia, as well as the exchange of valuable experiences.

 

The meeting was attended by Committee members Giorgi Chakvetadze, Lika Shartava and Eka Sepashvili.
