
As part of their working visit to Germany, Mariam Lashkhi, a member of the Education and Science Committee of the Parliament of Georgia and the Chair of the Vocational Education Advisory Council, along with Irakli Shatakishvili, the First Deputy Chairman of the Rules and Procedural Issues Committee, met with representatives of UNESCO-UNEVOC.
UNESCO-UNEVOC is a United Nations organization focused on vocational education. It is responsible for creating profiles of member states, promoting vocational education, processing statistical information, and conducting relevant research. The primary aim of UNESCO-UNEVOC is to enhance the accessibility and quality of vocational education in alignment with the United Nations' 4th sustainable development goal.
During the meeting, discussions revolved around the advancement of vocational education in Georgia. They explored potential cooperation between Georgia and UNESCO-UNEVOC, including the establishment of a UNESCO-UNEVOC expert group and its representation in Georgia. Both parties agreed on the prospect of future collaboration.
With this meeting, the visit of the members of the Parliament of Georgia to the Federal Republic of Germany came to a close. The primary purpose of the visit was to study the best international practices in the field of vocational education.
