Mariam Lashkhi and Levan Makhashvili visited the Center for Georgian Studies at the State University of Yerevan

Mariam Lashkhi, Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee, and Levan Makhashvili, Chair of the EU Integration Committee, accompanied by the Ambassador of Georgia to Armenia, H.E. Giorgi Sharvashidze, visited the Center for Georgian Studies at the State University of Yerevan.


At the meeting with the Vice-Rector of the University, the Head of the Centre, academic staff, and students, Ms. Lashkhi emphasized the significance of the Centre in teaching the Georgian language and history.


The Vice-Rector expressed his willingness to visit Georgia for the educational purposes of the beneficiaries and the students of the Center.


Mr. Makhashvili dwelt on the importance of cooperation in the academic sphere.


The parties further outlined activities, emphasised the necessity of the students’ exchange programmes and deliberated on the imperative of providing textbooks and pedagogues on Georgian literature and history.


The Center for Georgian Studies was established in 2024 and facilitates the academic literacy on the Georgian history, culture and literature.
