Mariam Lashkhi met with the Ambassador of Israel

Mariam Lashkhi, Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee and the Head of the Georgia-Israel Friendship Group, held a meeting with the Ambassador of Israel, H.E. Walid Abu Haya.

At the meeting, the parties discussed the existing partnership between Georgia and Israel, as well as priority areas for future cooperation across various sectors.

Particular attention was paid to strengthening relations in the field of education. The discussion covered the importance of student exchange programs and the issue of signing an academic cooperation memorandum between Georgia and Israel.

The conversation also addressed opportunities for deepening cooperation within the framework of the Interim Commission on Women and Children.

“One of the priority topics for the Interim Commission on Women and Children is children’s rights in cyberspace. Israel has substantial experience in this field. We discussed holding a joint seminar aimed at raising awareness and studying Israel’s legislative framework in this direction”, - M. Lashkhi stated.

The meeting also focused on Israel’s experience in integrating innovation and entrepreneurship into the military structure.

“In Israel, the military sector is highly developed. Innovation and entrepreneurship education are well integrated into the army. It is important for us to study their experience in this regard — the teaching methods and tools they use to develop entrepreneurial skills and create start-ups. The meeting also covered cooperation opportunities in healthcare and agro-technology”, - said Mariam Lashkhi.

According to her, she received an invitation from the Israeli Ambassador to attend Cyber Week — an annual event and one of the most significant cybersecurity forums held in Israel.
