
Mariam Lashkhi, Chair of the Education, Science and Youth Affairs Committee, addressed the 3rd Annual Conference of the San Diego State University Research Foundation (SDSURF) “Improving the management services and quality of programs in early and preschool education institutions across the country”.
She highlighted the early and preschool education significance, the solutions for the challenges and the necessity of establishing international standards.
According to her, the joint efforts of the state, municipalities and international partners facilitate the improvement of the education accessibility and quality.
“Public kindergartens provide the environment necessary for the safety, nutrition and development of children. They also help them acquire the skills essential for the preschool education period, preparing them to become responsible citizens”.
The Deputy Education, Science and Youth Minister, Baia Kvitsiani, the Executive Director of the Project “Innovation, Inclusiveness and Quality Project - Georgia I2Q”, Tamar Sanikidze, the education specialist of the World Bank, Ana Berdzenadze, and the Professor of San Diego University, Douglas Fisher, also addressed the attendees.
The conference included panel discussions, where the education sphere representatives and experts deliberated on the early and preschool education directions, including the professional qualifications of the pedagogues, quality provision, school readiness program (SRP), child development assessment, and the inclusive education prospects.
The conference is held within the “Innovation, Inclusiveness and Quality Project - Georgia I2Q” with the support of the World Bank.
The ceremony was attended by the representatives of the legislative and executive authorities, municipalities and kindergartens.
