
The Chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee, Paata Kvizhinadze, held a meeting with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission.
During the working meeting, discussions centered on Georgia's macroeconomic stability, fiscal and monetary policies, inflation, and the current state of the banking sector. Additionally, potential legislative initiatives concerning state enterprises and the National Bank were addressed.
Paata Kvizhinadze briefed the mission members on the progress of the state budget implementation. Despite challenges posed by the pandemic and geopolitical factors, it was highlighted that Georgia's consistent fiscal policy has yielded positive outcomes across all sectors. Emphasis was placed on the importance of ongoing reforms for the country's continued development, both from fiscal and macroeconomic perspectives.
The IMF mission's consultations, conducted under Article IV of the IMF Articles of Agreement, commenced in Georgia this week and occur regularly.
