Paata Kvizhinadze Meets with IMF Mission Representatives

Chairman of the Budget and Finance Committee, Paata Kvizhinadze, held a meeting with representatives of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) mission, led by Alejandro Hajdenberg. The meeting was also attended by Andrew Jewell, the IMF’s Resident Representative in Georgia.

The discussion focused on Georgia’s macroeconomic stability, fiscal and monetary policy, and the current status of the 2025 budget implementation. Ongoing matters between Georgia and the IMF were also reviewed.

IMF representatives highlighted the country’s strong economic activity and solid growth, expressing optimism that this trend is likely to continue. Both sides reaffirmed their readiness to advance cooperation to a new stage.

The IMF mission commenced its work in Georgia last weekunder the framework of Article IV Consultations, as set out in the IMF’s Articles of Agreement.

The mission aims to assess the country’s macroeconomic situation and review fiscal and monetary policies currently in place.
