The Speaker of the Parliament of Georgia, H.E. Shalva Papuashvili, together with Members of Parliament, distributed Christmas offerings to participants of the festive Alilo procession (Christmas Carol March).
Shalva Papuashvili congratulated the citizens of Georgia on the Feast of the Nativity of Christ and drew attention to the Christmas Epistle of His Holiness Ilia II, Catholicos-Patriarch of All Georgia.
“First of all, I congratulate our fellow citizens in Georgia and abroad, all Orthodox Christians, on the Feast of the Nativity, and wish everyone peace, kindness, and love.
Yesterday, in the Patriarch’s Christmas Epistle, important emphasis was placed on the issues that weigh heavily on the life of our society. It is important that each of us looks into our own hearts and fully embraces the goodness embodied in this day, so that Christ may be born in our hearts”, - the Speaker of Parliament stated.
The Alilo procession began at First Republic Square and concluded at the Holy Trinity Cathedral (Sameba).
