1. We affirm that NATO membership is a key instrument for Georgia in enhancing independence, territorial integrity and sovereignty, democracy and national security and is based on unanimous, wide political and public support;
2. We extend our absolute solidarity to Ukraine in its fight for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity against a full-scale Russian military aggression; we believe that the war provoked by Russia is a continuation of a terroristic and open military aggression that Russia has conducted against Georgia in 2008; and no peace in the Euro-Atlantic area based on the international law can be ensured without Georgia and Ukraine integration to NATO;
3. We hail the NATO updated strategic concept endorsing the loyalty to the open door policy; the NATO Bucharest Summit 2008 decision has been reiterated; and Russia was refused to form its own influence spheres and realize its direct control on its neighbors through violence, subversion, aggression and annexation;
4. We express our gratitude to NATO and its member states for their essential and practical support, as well as the decision made at the NATO Madrid Summit to render the needs-tailored political and practical support to Georgia, which allows Georgia to intensify its efforts for the creation of unity and resilience, develop capacities and enhance political independence;
5. We hail NATO’s decision on the membership of Finland and in the nearest future Sweden without an action plan, since we believe it to serve as a historical precedent for the NATO members-to-be as a practical dimension of membership, including without the action plan;
6. We emphasize the importance of the political decision to be made at the Vilnius Summit and further concerning Georgia’s NATO membership and in this view, the necessity of an agreement on consistent, certain and procedural steps;
7. We express our commitment to applying all available platforms, including the international parliamentary assemblies to facilitate the progress of Georgia at NATO integration path to ensure final membership”, - the statement provides.
