
Nikoloz Samkharadze, Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee, accompanied by the Committee members, serves an official visit to Riyadh with the invitation of the Saudi Arabia Parliament.
During the visit, meetings were held with the Chair of the Foreign Relations Committee of the Saudi Arabia Parliament, and the Committee members, and with the Head and members of the Saudi Arabia-Georgia Friendship Group.
At meetings, emphasis was placed on bilateral relations. The parties underlined high level of the political relations between the two countries and stressed the necessity of enhancing cooperation in the trade, economy, culture and education spheres.
Georgian MPs thanked their colleagues for supporting the territoriral integrity of Georgia and informed them about the grave situation in the occupied regions, the security challenges in the South Caucasus and the economic progress achieved by Georgia for the recent years. Saudi Arabia Members of Parliament reviewed the developments in the Near East, the reforms scheduled in their country and the visions for 2030.
The parties touched upon the IT services, renewable energy and infrastructure investments.
Georgian MPs invited their colleagues with a response visit to Georgia.
The Georgian Delegation, headed by Nikoloz Samkharadze, is composed of: the First Deputy Chair of the Committee, Irakli Shatakishvili, the Head of the Georgia-Saudi Arabia Friendship Group, Vakhtang Turnava, Chair of the Sports Committee and the member of the Friendship Group, Victor Sanikidze.
