Parliamentary Delegation Led by Nino Tsilosani met with Chair of the Canada–Georgia Friendship Group in the Canadian Parliament

A delegation of the Parliament of Georgia, led by Vice Speaker of Parliament Nino Tsilosani, met with Lianne Rood, Chair of the Canada–Georgia Friendship Group in the Parliament of Canada, and members of the group.

The meeting focused on enhancing the role of parliamentary friendship groups, increasing the frequency of bilateral visits, and strengthening direct and active communication between the two countries.

Notably, this marks the first time that a parliamentary delegation of Georgia has paid an official visit to Canada within the framework of the friendship group.

Nino Tsilosani and members of the delegation emphasized the importance of exchanging objective and accurate information among partners.

During the meeting, it was noted that, alongside Canada’s growing cooperation with the European Union, it is important for Canada to base its decisions regarding Georgia on the country’s genuine reform progress and internationally recognized rankings, in which Georgia has traditionally held leading positions.

The Canadian side reaffirmed Georgia’s significant role in the South Caucasus, expressed interest in expanding bilateral trade relations, and conveyed its readiness to support the further development of parliamentary dialogue between the two countries.
